The Margate Business Association is constantly on the cutting edge of technology, seeking new and innovative ways for residents, businesses and visitors to easily connect with everything the MBA and Margate City has to offer and as a vital lifeline for Margate businesses. The latest initiative to emerge is called AddEvent, a user-friendly integration that simply requires anyone to scan a QR code that seamlessly adds MBA events to the user’s smart phone calendar, making it virtually impossible to miss any of the great events and free programs the MBA produces each year. The QR code is featured on the 2024 residential mailer to every household in Margate, a rack piece with a distribution of 25,000, on display at Margate businesses and a quick link to add the event calendar from a desktop computer can also be found on the margatehasmore.com website under ‘Events’.
“AddEvent is the perfect tool to stay informed about all MBA events’, said MBA President Ed Berger, “the professionals at Cold Soup Marketing brought this idea to us, and it’s a perfect, seamless way to engage with our audience without the constant barrage of emails. Once someone has added the events to their calendar, it allows the user to easily access more detailed information on the website to find event hours, locations, registration forms and more. AddEvent will also automatically generate reminders in advance of the event date, helping users manage their busy lifestyles and keep what they love about Margate on their radar.
Also, on March 12 at 5:30pm, Tomatoes restaurant will host a meeting for all MBA members and non-members to learn about AddEvent and meet JFS Business Liason, Bruce Weekes who will speak about creating successful matches between employees and employers. Plus, the potential benefits to businesses, like $2,400-$9,600 average tax credits and immediate access to pre- qualified and motivated candidates.
