2024 BEACHSTOCK WIFFLE BALL HOME RUN DERBY

FEES:

None, this is a free event.

PRE-REGISTRATION:

• Online through June 27 at 6:00 PM.
• In-person registration on June 29, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM.

ELIGIBILITY:

Ages 6 to adult; all are welcome to participate.

FORMAT:

10 swings off a tee to hit the most home runs per age group.

PRIZES:

• Most home runs per age group.
• Most home run(s) combined adult/child (under 18).

RULES:

• Age groups will be determined by ages of participants under the age of 18. Over 18 will all be considered adults.
• Everyone will hit with the same type of wiffle ball bat.
• Each batter will get 10 swings off tee to hit as many home runs as possible.
• Home runs must clear fence for the specific age group on the fly and in fair territory. Qualifying home runs for each participant will be counted by volunteers and recorded by officials.
• Home plate will be moved further away from the fence as each age group gets older.
• Adult/child (under 18) teams can qualify for the greatest combined number of home runs.
• Foul balls, ground balls, pop-ups, swings and misses will all count towards the 10 swings allowed and considered an out.
• Ties will be settled by a 1 swing ‘Walk Off” round; each participant gets to swing and try to hit a HR. If no winner after 3 swings, a ‘Sudden Victor’ will be whoever hits the next home run. Order will be determined by a coin flip. If there are more than 2 players, order determined by lowest house number (to highest) on submitted home address.

Waiver and Release

In consideration for accepting this entry and granting of the right to participate in this event I/we, the undersigned intending to be legally bound hereby for myself/ourselves, my/our heirs, waive and release for any and all claims, damages, I may have against the Margate Business Association (MBA) Board of Trustees, members, volunteers, organizers, staff, Margate Beachstock, Sponsors, the City of Margate and/or any other person whomsoever for any and all injuries, illness, including death that may result from my participation in said event. I/we represent and affirm that I/we am/are in proper physical condition to participate in this event. The undersigned has read and voluntarily signed this Waiver and Release. Event may be subject to cancellation due to weather-related conditions, safety concerns or unforeseen circumstances.
