The Margate Business Association’s 20TH Annual Wine Tasting will be held outdoors at the renovated recreation complex on Edgmar Circle, Friday night July 28 from 6pm-9pm. This tranquil setting will enhance an unforgettable evening of wine, craft beer and spirit tastings, mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres and sweets, a silent auction, with dozens of desirable items to bid on, and blistering live entertainment by the pop, rock cover band Usual Suspects. Tickets are $75 per person.
The event will showcase delectable food from local restaurants with sweet treats provided by Jagielky’s Homemade Candy. Over 430 guests attended last year’s event, the tented, outdoor setting being so popular that the event committee decided to hold it again at Edgmar Circle Recreation Field. In addition to the fine sampling and auction items offered guests enjoyed recreational cornhole, ping pong, chess and checker games.
Auction items are generously donated by businesses and individuals throughout the community. This year’s auction will feature sporting event tickets, gift baskets, exotic trips, show tickets, gift certificates from local boutiques and retailers, and more! Advance bidding for items is available at www.mbawine.com. The Wine Tasting Committee is co-chaired by Paula Hartman and Dana Hartman-Hiltner.
A portion of the proceeds benefits the Margate Business Association’s Daniel and Maria Walters Scholarship Program which has awarded over $120,000 in scholarships since its inception. The scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who have attended Margate City schools and are continuing their education. The event also supports the MBA’S Children Fund in conjunction with the Margate schools which anonymously provides warm clothing, school supplies, food, eyeglasses, summer camp for latch key children, toys and more for local children.
